Setting Up a Third Party KONTAKT Library

This article explains how to add a Powered by KONTAKT Library by a third party manufacturer to the KONTAKT Browser and how to activate it.

KONTAKT's Manage Libraries function only allows you to add Powered By KONTAKT Libraries to the Browser. These libraries can also be used with the free KONTAKT 5 Player. Please check the third party manufacturer's product page to find out if your Library is Powered By KONTAKT. You can find a selection of third party Powered By Kontakt Libraries on Native Instruments website.

To set up a third party KONTAKT Library follow these steps:

Step 1: Install the latest version of KONTAKT 5 or KONTAKT 5 Player.

Step 2: Install the third party KONTAKT library.

Note: If you have questions about the installation process contact the Library's manufacturer's support.

Step 3: Launch KONTAKT 5 from the following location:

- Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Instruments > Kontakt 5

- Windows: C: > Program Files > Native Instruments > Kontakt 5

Step 4: In the KONTAKT Browser select the 'MANAGE LIBRARIES' tab and Enter the Serial you were provided.

Step 5: Native Access will open in a new window. This will ask you to enter the serial number that will have been provided with your Kontakt 5 Library.

Step 6: Within Native Access select the library folder you wish to add to the 'Libraries' Tab.  Confirm your selection by clicking 'Open'.

Step 7: The Library box will now appear in the 'Libraries' Tab. Note that there will be an 'Activate' button which indicates that the product has not yet been activated on this computer.

Step 8: Click 'Activate' to open the PRODUCT ACTIVATION window and enter your product's serial number. Click 'Activate' to confirm.
